Rachael Reads

A new place to keep books I like and books I don't like.
Under His Command - Kristine Cayne This book started out HOT and then took an unexpected turn that I wasn't sure I'd like but I kept reading and found that I liked Ms. Cayne's story more than the one I was writing in my head.
I'd never read about the fire kink and I liked it!
Oh, Fire Master - where are you?????

The Art of Domination (The Art of D/s, #2)

The Art of Domination - Ella Dominguez So when I finished the first book in this series I immediately went to Amazon and got this one!
I like getting the story from both points of view. The scenes were much more hot this book and their time in the club had me cheering and panting at the same time! I've not read a switch written quite the way Isabel is written - the way she changes so quickly when she does. It's so easy to see both sides of her.
This is my first blood play book and Ella writes it in a way that does not turn me off.
I am looking forward to the next installment!

The Art of Submission

The Art of Submission - Ella Dominguez I took me a bit to get used to the rhythm of the book but once I did I was hooked! I liked seeing how Isabel (and Dylan) dealt with her outbursts and I loved the heat these two generated.

I can't wait to see how their pasts and secrets collide.
After the Crux - Dani Worth I really really really liked this story! I wish it was longer and I can't wait to read more. I want to know how the trip to find Cadmars family went. I want to know what happened with Georgia, Lynn, and Jake. Maybe we will find out what caused the Crux, maybe we won't. I just like how Ms Worth is building tis new world bit by bit.
Whore For Hire - Emily Velvet Interesting concept. Not even long enough to leave me wanting more.
Voyeur (A My Slut Story, #3) - C.B. Ryder A man watches via webcam as his sub gets fucked by her husband.
Power Play: Katie and the Dom - Selena Kitt I wanted more!
Another Way - Anna Martin The scenes were really good but I felt the reactions of everyone including the MC's were a bit too easy.

Ain't No Sunshine

Ain't No Sunshine - Leslie DuBois For all my smut friends let me just say this is not smut. No getting hot bad bothered by this read. Let me also say I couldn't put it down once I'd started it and stayed up till 2:10am knowing I had to get up at 5:45am.
It is a very clever mystery that had me wondering until the very end of the book.
I'm going to be buying more from this author!

Fallen Angel (The Dark Side Trilogy, #1)

Fallen Angel - Dark Scribe Based on a true story? Interesting.

I am not a fan of the last section with Douglas and the chair. Was the purpose to show what their lives had become? It was confusing and not in a good way.

Naked Edge (I-Team, #4)

Naked Edge (I-Team, #4) - Pamela Clare Wow. Just Wow.
Star Crossed - Kele Moon This book is a great example of why I don't like to read a series while it's relatively current. I don't want to wait to get the next one! I'm not the most patient of people.
Kele, please write faster.

Out of the Dungeon (Dungeon #2)

Out of the Dungeon (Dungeon #2) - S.M. Johnson This book took a turn that really surprised me! What a great story!
Above the Dungeon - S.M. Johnson I really liked this story - the straight guy working at a gay bdsm club and the relationships that result. It was hot!
The only draw back for me and what took a few chapters to adjust to was the changing POVs.I don't think the story would have been the same if it had been told differently though.
Special Force - Brynn Paulin A quick cute read
Five Ways 'til Sunday - Delilah Devlin I'm left feeling lost. This just didn't do it for me. There was an attempt at a plot but no resolution to it I felt like there were more chapters that just missing.
